2026 - MY NEW HIT SINGLE!
"Prisoner For You"/"Can I See You Tonight"
Written & performed by: Bobby Sharon Brooks
Producer: Jim Miller

It all started with guitar-voice demos I recorded in 1980 with John Florez at Jack Miller's studio in Phoenix. Fast forward to 2026: John combined two of my acoustic tunes from that session and sent them to his lifelong friend, Jim Miller, an extremely gifted producer. The result is "Prisoner For You" and "Can I see You Tonight" in medley format. It rocks! And I really think you'll enjoy listening to it.

With my deepest admiration and sadness I watch my Son, Bobby D. Brooks, 48, a Gulf War veteran, fight a losing battle to an awful liver disease (diabetes).
I wrote this song in tribute to him, for how he never lost hope or faith even though he knew the inevitable. He loved hot sunny days, and hated cold cloudy days.
He would say, "I gotta keep going, can't quit, can't give up, I gotta shine on, no matter how bad, gotta keep faith in God and myself, there's a brighter day coming for us all".
I wrote his song in about 5 minutes on my way to Nashville to record other songs but, "Shine On" was recorded first, about 3 months before his passing 20 Aug 2019.  "Shine On, Son!"
Love,
Dad

MY MUSIC: FROM THE 1970'S TO TODAY
The first song I wrote and recorded (1970) was "Huntsville Lights". In it, I described  the  true life circumstances concerning the nightlife and music scene in Huntsville Alabama.  From there, it was never-ending performing all over the country, plus completing my obligations to the U.S. Army.  I had a deep desire to write songs about everything imaginable and recording those songs was not easy. However, I wouldn't quit in spite of all the ups and downs I went through, I feel I was destined to make my mark in the field of music, and today that deep desire to write and sing is still in my heart.  To date, I have written over 200 original songs and have performed before enthusiastic audiences across the country.
